Agf won the championship, but it was not just on the field that there was a war between Agf and FC Midtjylland. It was also outside the lines.
What happened?
The focal point of the case was that FC Midtjylland had bid on Agf's Tobias Bech in the January transfer window, but Agf declined. And then Tipsbladet could tell that there was an agreement regarding the salary package that FCM offered Tobias Bech – but that Carsten V. Jensen and Agf rejected selling the player.
Why is it important for Agf?
Tobias Bech and his agent, Brian Steen Nielsen, have denied that there was an agreement with FCM from the player's side. Tipsbladet has however maintained – and still maintains – the story, and now Agf director Jacob Nielsen also talks about the case again. He says it was a dirty trick, and that it is against the law to contact each other's players.
What comes next?
Agf ended up winning the Danish championship and can now look forward to playing in the Champions League qualification, where they open in the 2nd round against Lech Poznan. | Category | Value | | --- | --- | | League standing | 5th in Kvindeliga, 26 points, 7 wins, 5 draws, 11 losses from 23 games, recent form LDLLL | | Goals this season | 26 scored, 31 conceded (-5 goal difference) | | Title race | 24 points behind leaders Køge W
