Agf made a major transfer coup in January by re-signing Magnus Knudsen. The Norwegian, who was signed from German club Holstein Kiel, went straight into the Agf team and became a key player in the spring, which ended with a great triumph.
What happened?
Agf's football director Carsten V. Jensen has told about the process that ended with Magnus Knudsen making a comeback in the Agf jersey. There was a bit of coincidence in it, because there is an assistant coach from Holstein Kiel who is on a study trip with us, and is there for a week, I think.
Why was it a good idea?
For us, it was a bit of a no brainer. And then it was again about the fact that timing means a lot in this world. You can be lucky and unlucky, that you just come in an hour or a day too late. But here we hijacked a deal that was on its way in another direction, but where Magnus would rather go to Aarhus. We didn't have time to negotiate anything, we took over a deal, because we couldn't negotiate on something that had already been negotiated. The price was set at around 12.5 million kroner for Magnus Knudsen.
What does it mean for Agf?
Agf is now 5th in Kvindeliga with 26 points, 7 wins, 5 draws and 11 losses, and has scored 26 goals and conceded 31. It's 24 points behind league leaders Køge W. But with Magnus Knudsen on the team, Agf has a good chance of fighting for a place in the top part of the table.
